Key Considerations for Water Equipment Selection and Prefabrication in Precast Hotels

Jan 21,2026

The core of water equipment for prefabricated steel structure hotels is **"factory prefabrication and integration + on-site precise assembly"**. It requires combining the standardized production characteristics of steel structure components, planning pipeline routes in advance, reserving interfaces, and pre-installing components to ensure that the system functions meet the hotel's operational needs while leveraging the advantages of prefabricated buildings, such as short construction period and high precision.

Water supply and drainage system: prefabricated and integrated + leak-proof and clog-proof

Water Supply System

• Divided into three main branches according to hotel water usage scenarios: domestic water supply, hot water supply, and fire-fighting water supply. Domestic water supply uses variable frequency booster pumps to ensure stable water pressure in guest rooms, lobby, and dining areas. The hot water system uses a centralized air-source heat pump/gas boiler, coupled with a circulating pump to provide instant hot water in guest rooms. The circulating pipeline must be laid close to the steel beams to reduce heat loss.

• Water quality must meet hotel standards. Water purifiers are installed at the point of sale in guest rooms, and separate water filtration devices are installed in areas such as the kitchen and laundry room.

Drainage System

• Guest room areas prioritize a same-floor drainage system. During factory prefabrication, drainage pipe openings are pre-installed in the steel floor slab, along with pre-installed drainage collectors to prevent leaks caused by pipes penetrating the floor. Bathroom floor drains are odor-proof, with a pipe slope controlled at 2%-3% to prevent water accumulation and blockage.

• Kitchens and restaurants are equipped with grease traps, and laundry rooms have sedimentation tanks. Wastewater is pre-treated before being connected to the municipal drainage network. Roof rainwater uses an organized drainage system; gutters and downpipes are fixed to the steel components during factory prefabrication. Downpipes are made of corrosion-resistant PVC or stainless steel.

Standardized prefabrication of pipe shafts in the factory: Water supply risers, drainage risers, and fire-fighting risers are integrated into the steel structure pipe shaft. Rubber pads are used to isolate the pipes from the steel components to prevent noise caused by pipe vibration.

Pre-installation of pipelines and pre-reservation of interfaces: Water supply and drainage interfaces for bathroom sinks, toilets, and showers are precisely positioned in the factory prefabrication stage, with pre-installed water-stop joints and waterproof sleeves, allowing direct connection to sanitary ware on site without the need for secondary drilling.

Specialized adaptation for fire-fighting water supply: Fire hydrant boxes and sprinkler pipe supports must be pre-welded and fixed to steel columns and beams (factory prefabrication). Sprinkler head placement must avoid obstruction by steel structure components to ensure comprehensive fire-fighting coverage. Fire pump rooms are preferentially located on the ground floor of the hotel, designed in conjunction with the steel structure foundation to ensure sufficient load-bearing capacity for the equipment.
